PRIVACY PLEASE

Thanks a bajillion for shopping at The Reluctant Trading Experiment. We take your privacy seriously. We’ve done our best to ensure the security and confidentiality of your transactions and communications with us. But we also want to make sure you understand how we do business so that there aren’t any surprises, cool?

GETTING TO KNOW YOU

When you make a purchase on ReluctantTrading.com, place an order on the phone with us, purchase from us in person, enter a contest, provide a product review or answer one of our surveys you might choose to give us basic information such as your name, mailing address, email address, zip code, phone number and credit card number.  If you contact us without placing an order, such as to ask a specific question about our products or policies, we may also keep record of similar personal information.

If you shop with us on our website, we usually collect more information such as your internet service provider’s address, your browser type and version, the name of the web page directing you and your clicks and activity on our site. We also take note of the purchases you have made in the past in order to better understand your unique customer preferences.

WHY DO WE COLLECT ALL THIS STUFF?

This info is used for several reasons. One, it helps us do our jobs better. If we can help show you stuff that you like better based on stuff that you liked in the past, that’s a better use of your time and ours, isn’t it?

The info also allows us to provide better customer service. It lets us send you an email to notify you of your order confirmation or a change to your order status. We can communicate new additions and special savings through email. Should a safety issue arise, if we have all of your relevant info, we can easily contact you to let you know if there are any issues.  If you are not interested in marketing emails, you may opt out at any time; however, emails regarding your order or safety will be sent to you even if you unsubscribe.

All customer information collected is securely stored as long as we continue to operate, unless otherwise prescribed by applicable legal requirements or as requested to be deleted by you (see below).  We might keep information from inactive users to comply with the law, fight fraud, collect any money owed, resolve spats, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigation, and do anything else required by law.

There are several legal bases for us needing to collect your information.  First is consent, by you agreeing to provide such information in order to complete your purchase on our website.  We then keep such information securely stored for our legitimate interests in fulfilling your order and continued customer service.

WE’RE NOT GOING TO DRIVE YOU CRAZY

If you make a purchase or sign up for our email list we will notify you of new product intros and news through our emails. If you prefer to stop receiving marketing stuff from The Reluctant Trading Experiment, it’s easy to shut it all off. To opt out of emails, you can unsubscribe directly from the email that was sent to you. Or just call us at 847.831.8825 or email us at help@ReluctantTrading.com.

You may also request to have your account and personal information permanently deleted from our system, as long as it is no earlier than 180 days from a purchase or return.  Simply contact us via one of the contact methods above.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

If you choose to make a purchase or sign up for our email list, you consent to your information being transferred and stored on servers in the United States. Such transfers will be completed in compliance with relevant data protection legislation, using EU-US and/or Swiss-US Privacy Shields.  We will use and protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority. Residents of the EU also have the right to view their personal information that we store securely; please use the one of the contact methods at the end of this section to make this request.  If any inaccuracies or incomplete information needs to be corrected, we will work with you to do so in a timely manner. Just as all customers, residents of the EU have the right to have their account and personal information deleted from our system, provided it is over 180 days since a purchase or return.
